Niche’s Matt Jackson is a matter of weeks away from his first ever boxing match, in aid of Prostate Cymru.
Set to spar off against a yet-to-be revealed opponent, Matt is taking part in the Elite Fitness Fight Club white collar boxing event near Cardiff.
It will be his first ever time in a competitive bout and he’s already halfway through a gruelling training schedule that aims to get him fighting fit!
Matt is aiming to raise £1,000 for his chosen charity, Prostate Cymru, and has already raised nearly £400. It’s a cause close to his heart, having witnessed a close friend battle Prostate Cancer.
“It was obviously a challenging time for my friend, and with it being one of the most common cancers in men, it was a no-brainer to choose Prostate Cymru as my nominated charity,” Matt revealed.
The event takes place on 15th June, and with time running out before the big day, the 27-year old Newport man is beginning to feel the nerves, admitting “I’m hoping this training programme can get me ready due to my lack of fighting experience.”
“I’ve always been into my sports and thought it would be a good time to finally have a go at this,” he concluded.
A proud boss, Director of Niche and Chartered Financial Planner, Ray Adams says “We’re delighted Matt is raising money for Prostate Cymru- a great cause. Fingers crossed he’ll still be in one piece come Monday morning!
