October has been an exciting month for all of us at Niche, so here’s a quick round-up of what we’ve been up to!
Fast Growth 50
Niche attended the Fast Growth 50 Awards in the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on 19th October and were delighted to be announced as the 31st fastest growing business in Wales.
The 20th annual black-tie event also saw us nominated as one of the top businesses in financial and professional services.
We were humbled to have been recognised among some of Wales’ leading businesses, and while all of our team have played a key part in our success, more than anything, we would like to thank you, our clients.
Without you, we wouldn’t be where we are today, able to help you make the big financial decisions in your lives. We’re determined to continue to play an important role in our community and work with you for many years to come.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our team knows first hand the impact it can have on individuals and families alike, and we were determined to show our support.
Aside from displaying our ‘Wear pink’ banner on the side of our offices overlooking the M4, we also joined in with a ‘Wear it pink’ day along with Bryn, our Dragon mascot.
Niche paraplanner Trudy Jenkins also put together an emotive blog talking her own experiences with Breast Cancer, and how important raising awareness is. You can read that here.
The Poppy Appeal
With Breast Cancer Awareness Month drawing to a close, November sees us mark Remembrance Sunday by supporting this year’s Poppy Appeal.
Working with The Royal British Legion, the campaign will be publicised on our M4-facing office and will go towards supporting a charity that does some extremely valuable work with veterans. With the Poppy Appeal being the Legion’s biggest fundraising campaign of the year, we’re extremely proud to be able to support it this November.
October also saw us attend more Quilter Cheviot Paraplanner Roadshows. We have been attending the events throughout September, giving presentations on the role of cashflow planning to paraplanners around the UK.
Niche also develops their own cashflow software called CashCalc, which is now the UK market leader in its field. Our team use the software on a daily basis, so they’re well placed to talk about how it can be used effectively.
We sent a team of some of our top paraplanners along to all of the roadshows, with the month’s first taking place in Bristol on the 3rd October. We also stopped off at London, before rounding off the series in Birmingham on the 18th October.
With a busy few weeks behind us, the last Friday of the month saw the team take to the bowling alley for this autumn’s Niche Social. In what was a well-spirited but highly competitive 10-pin challenge, Team Roberts won through, with Niche Sports’ Tom Powell taking the highest scorer accolade thanks to an eye-watering 231 in game two!
With pulses raised and pins bumpers lowered, Team Roberts’ efforts earned them the much-sought after Niche Trophy and sweet treats. And with the hard work at Newport’s Superbowl done with, it was time to unwind at TGI Friday’s. Next up, the Christmas party!
It’s been an eventful month for our sports teams, too.
Having faced a challenging month in the Pro14, the Dragons came away with an emphatic victory over Romanian team ‘Timisoara Saracens’. The match was held in Romania as part of the European Rugby Challenge Cup, with the Dragons winning 54-17.
Hartridge RFC faced a busy month in the WRU National League, while Crindau Corries continued their promising start to the season with a 2-1 win over Severn Tunnel.
