The team at Niche have been busy wrapping presents and hanging decorations, and last Friday, the festive spirit spread into the office to mark Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day 2018.
This annual fundraising event began the 10-day countdown to Christmas, with all staff itching (no woolly jumper puns intended…) to show off their best jumpers. Even Bryn, our M4 Dragon, was donning his festive wear!
Every December, millions of people across the nation take part in Save the Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day. Year after year, the event becomes more and more popular in schools, offices and pubs, with pets even getting involved as well.
Save the Children works tirelessly, running world class programmes that save lives and help to give forgotten children across the world a brighter future. They do all they can to ensure that they can provide support in times of conflict, to give unique care and attention to each child and try to narrow the gap between children living in poverty and those better off.
By getting involved with Christmas Jumper Day, Niche helped contribute vital funds towards giving children a better future. All the money raised will be used by Save the Children in the best way possible. A donation of just £2 means that five children suffering from pneumonia can be treated. Last year, nearly 1 million children under the age of five around the world died from pneumonia but with Save the Children helping bring 1.6 million children out of extreme poverty, this number was reduced substantially.
You can still contribute to our fundraising efforts for Save the Children, by texting TEAMNICHE to 70050 to donate £5 to the charity.
This year has also seen us raise awareness and vital funds for a range of charities. In May, Independent Financial Adviser Matt Jackson took part in a white collar boxing event to raise funds for Prostate Cymru. October saw us all take part in ‘wear pink to work’ day for Breast Cancer Awareness, while in November we put up a Remembrance Day banner on our M4-facing wall to support The Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal.
We love to play a visible role in the community, and we are committed to supporting organisations and charities through our own partnership programme. This sees us link up with and raise awareness for various causes, and support local sports teams and institutions.
We’ve been thrilled to play a part in many initiatives throughout 2018 and are determined to go even further through 2019.
