As we approach the end of March and a long Easter weekend, we’ve taken a look back at what has happened so far in 2021 - from exam success for many members of the team to supporting local charities such as 2 Wish Upon A Star.
If you would like to find out more about any of the stories discussed below, or if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Albeit remotely, we continue to operate as normal and are available to chat either via telephone or video call.
Update from Ray Adams
This time last year, we were experiencing the beginning of the first lockdown. With that in mind, Ray Adams (Chairman & Chartered Financial Planner) has recorded a short update video a year on from his first COVID-19 message.
As well as marking one year of lockdown, Ray briefly discusses the markets and importance of constructing a diversified portfolio – especially when markets go through a very turbulent time.
National Day of Reflection
The one year anniversary of lockdown also saw us support Marie Curie’s National Day of Reflection. This particular initiative not only brought people together to reflect on the tragic loss of life we've all felt over the last year, but also encouraged people to take a moment to connect.
On Tuesday 23rd March, we therefore paused to take a moment to reflect. We also arranged a virtual social event the following Friday, so all of us working remotely could connect, catch-up and take part in a quiz.
Following last year’s efforts, we have continued to support local charities and businesses via our 32 sqm digital billboard. Overlooking the M4 motorway next to the Brynglas Tunnels, over 3 million vehicles pass it every month, making it one of the highest reaching billboards in the country.
We’ve been proud to support a number of new charities so far this year, including 2 Wish Upon A Star who advertised during March. We were pleased when Rhian Mannings (Founder and CEO) and Gorgeous George visited us, who can be seen below having a photo in front of their advert with our Managing Director, Matt Wiltshire.
Best Financial Advice Firm to Work for 2021
Earlier in the month, we received the great news that Niche had been recognised as one of the ‘Best Financial Advice Firms to Work For’ 2021. Revealed at this year's all-digital Professional Adviser Awards, it was the third year running that Niche had been recognised for the award.
We were recognised for our diverse and employee-centred working practices, with our employee health and wellbeing scheme proving particularly important during these turbulent times. Our commitment to staff professional development was also commended.
Celebrating exam success
That commitment really has been realised so far this year, with three of our team, Cameron Jones, Chloe Behen and Joe Bezani, all passing significant milestones in their financial planning career.
Cameron, who joined Niche back in 2015, passed his R03 exam in Personal Taxation, meanwhile Chloe achieved her R01 in Financial Services, Regulations & Ethics. Completing the trio, Joe passed the Investment Risk & Tax exam with the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment) - the second of three modules for the 'Investment Advice Diploma'.
Let’s all congratulate Cameron, Chloe, and Joe on their great achievements! 👏
